About Our Client
Our client is one of the largest and longest established supplier of educational products to schools and early childhood sectors within the Australasia region, holding more than 50 years of experience in the industry. Having expanded organically and through acquisitions over the years, they are now looking to gain further market share in Asia by setting up offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. With committed investors in Asia, our client has built a notable foundation in this market. They are now looking for a well-networked Business Development Manager to join their team, with the objective of growing into the largest education resource provider in Hong Kong and the region.
Reporting to the International Sales Manager, you will play a significant role in driving and growing the International and Domestic school markets in Hong Kong by developing trusted supplier relationships with key contacts. You will attend business meetings with target audiences such as international schools, kindergarten, early childhood learning centres and the Department of Education to establish rapport and maximise sales opportunities. To do so, you will be in close contact with School Principals, Departments Heads, and Teachers to understand their needs as well as handle their inquiries. Coordinating closely with the International team, you will pitch, present and secure supply tenders with schools. You will also regularly attend industry events within the region to ensure you are up to date with industry trends and that it aligns to the Hong Kong education sector needs.
The Successful Applicant
To qualify, you will have a strong B2B Business Development track record with a solid knowledge of International/Domestic schools in Hong Kong. Those with experience working with and/or a network within domestic and international education institutions will be preferred. You will be a driven, entrepreneurial individual with a proactive attitude and a strong passion for the education industry. An excellent command of English (Mandarin and Cantonese is preferred but not required) with dynamic communications skills alongside a confident demeanour will be needed. You should be willing to work flexibly and be willing to travel both locally, and occasionally within the APAC region. To achieve results you should be a strong sales professional and be commercially driven with a desire to take responsibility of your market.
