About Our Client
With more than 60 years' experience, our client is a leader in the education supply industry and is one of the largest suppliers of educational resources to schools and early childhood sectors within the Australasia region. They are further investing their business in Asia and are looking to hire a Business Development Manager to expand their Hong Kong & Macau market. The successful candidate will be joining their International Sales team in accelerating the growth of the Hong Kong and Macau market with a view to move towards growth in the China market. This is an exciting role suitable for candidates with a strong background in the education industry.
Based in Hong Kong and reporting to the International Sales Manager, you will be developing strategic sales plans and growing the company's brand name in the market. You will play a significant role in driving and growing the International and Domestic school and early childhood sectors. By developing trusted customer relationships with key contacts and establishing Key Account Groups, you will become their main point of contact for their ongoing educational resource needs. You will attend regular business meetings with target customers, such as international schools, kindergartens, early childhood learning centres and the Hong Kong Education Bureau to establish rapport and maximise sales opportunities. To do so, you will be in close contact with early childhood educators, directors, procurement managers, curriculum co-ordinators, school principals, department heads and teachers. Understanding their learning outcomes and how our extensive category and product range can best support their ongoing resource needs. You will be responsible for contacting existing and new customers to identify new sales opportunities and to pitch, present and secure sales orders and tenders with schools and early childhood centres. You will be working.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have a strong customer focus and proven B2B Business Development track record with knowledge and experience working with educational institutions and have a strong network within the industry. This role requires someone who is hands-on with strong entrepreneurial spirit as you will be working autonomously within your given territory. Strong computer skills with good knowledge of Microsoft Office is required from the candidate. An excellent command of English with dynamic communications skills alongside a confident demeanour will be needed. Knowledge of Mandarin and Cantonese is an advantage. You should be willing to work flexibly and travel both locally and occasionally within the APAC region. To achieve results, you should be a strong and experienced sales professional and be commercially driven with a desire to take responsibility of your market.
