About Our Client

Our client is a globally renowned multinational corporation specializing in high-performance building materials. Our China facility is a state-of-the-art manufacturing hub integrating cutting-edge technology with sustainable production practices. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven ​​Plant Operations Manager​​ to optimize our production processes, ensure compliance, and lead teams in achieving operational excellence.

Job Description

Manage daily operations of factory e.g., prefabricated components, engineered wood, insulation systems.
Oversee production planning, scheduling, and capacity utilization to meet KPIs (e.g., OEE ≥90%, on-time delivery >95%).
Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste (5S, Kaizen) and improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) and local regulations.
Monitor quality control systems (SPC, Six Sigma) to minimize defects and rework rates (<0.5%).
Collaborate with R&D to scale up new product trials to full production.
Control direct/indirect costs (labor, raw materials, utilities) within budget (target: OPEX reduction of 5-8% YoY).
Optimize inventory management (JIT, VMI) to reduce carrying costs (<15 days turnover).
Negotiate strategic contracts with key suppliers/vendors.
Drive a safety-first culture (target: LTIFR <0.5); conduct regular audits and training.
Foster cross-functional collaboration between production, maintenance, and logistics teams.
Lead carbon footprint reduction projects (e.g., renewable energy integration, waste valorization).
Ensure compliance with ESG reporting requirements for global stakeholders

The Successful Applicant

​​Education:​​ Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical/Materials preferred) or MBA (Operations Management a plus).
​​Experience:​​ 8+ years in manufacturing operations (preferably building materials), with 3+ years in a managerial role at a multinational.
​​Technical Skills:​​
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle), production analytics tools.
Familiarity with automation technologies (PLC, robotics) in high-volume manufacturing.
​​Language:​​ Fluent English (written/spoken); Mandarin is a plus.
