About Our Client

Our client is one of the largest US financial services firms in the world, headquartered in San Francisco and founded in 1852. They are now opening an exciting role for APAC Compliance Senior Associate to join the APAC Compliance team to handle the planning and implementation of regulatory compliance projects in APAC as well as execution of compliance controls. They identify, assess and mitigate risks across financial crimes, regulatory and operational risk types as well as designing and implementing controls to ensure work effectiveness by managing risk and compliance across Wholesale banking group.

Job Description

  • Responsible for regulatory compliance projects on regulatory change management by planning and implementing the projects in APAC by proposing timelines, milestones and providing regular updates to stakeholders through management reporting etc.
  • Conduct gap analysis on processes and controls with both front line and compliance, maintain comments and feedback from relevant stakeholders and support the oversight of assigned projects in APAC
  • Facilitate review and support the creation of regulatory obligations and coordinate any required updates to company system of record
  • Handle compliance controls development and advisory that supports the ongoing execution of compliance program including policies and procedures, training and compliance monitoring
  • Support and assist stakeholders for completion of deliverables and relevant obligations and guidance
  • Support ad hoc duties assigned by APAC compliance management

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree with major in business administration, risk management or relevant discipline
  • 5-7 years of working experience in regulatory compliance/ regulatory advisory from top tier corporate/wholesale/ investment bank or major consultancy firm. Market Compliance experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in HKMA/ SFC. Knowledge in APAC regulatory environment is preferred. Knowledge in US banking or securities laws and regulations is also an advantage
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills, strong time management and organization skills with the ability to liaise with different levels of employees including senior management
  • Able to work proactively and independently with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and presentation) and interpersonal skills
