About Our Client
Our client is a global name in insurance, private equity, asset management and value add financial services. Headquartered in Europe with a strong brand in all of the world's financial centres, this organisation is now making very strong headway in Shanghai, Beijing and Greater China.
Job Description
A newly created position has become available for a Talent Management Consultant. This role will report to both the HR Head of China and also the Asia Pacific Head of Talent Management.
Working within a Group Talent Management network (with the support and mentoring that this brings), immediately you will be involved in all types of workshop, agendas, programs and employee assessment programs. However, the role will very soon morph into more strategic and visionary work - especially strategic workforce planning and proactive pipeline building.
Most importantly, the global infrastructure is largely in place so how can you create China-specific functions and then essentially communicate on these to the business. Your most senior stakeholders are supporters of a development culture however you will need to push and maintain this change in mindset to what an upskilled, diagnostic and consultative function can offer.
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant must have a credibility and be "smart" beyond their ten to fifteen years of experience in this area from a (international) financial services background. They will themselves be exceptionally career driven - with the ability to self assess as a means of garnering respect and buy-in from the business.
Technically, you will already have good experience of in-house career counselling and will be used to a global and well integrated talent infrastructure. However, in this case, you must also be excellent at communicating on this infrastructure as well as and be able to create a collective development culture.
Once you have identified your product in response to a need - you need to tangibly "go after" stakeholders to make sure they are maximising on the function.
Possibly the most important differentiator between the successful candidate for this role and others is a mindset of strategic workforce planning and proactive pipeline planning to ensure success - not simply responding to a budget.
