Job Description
Reporting to a Manager based in the US, you will be responsible for managing the roll-out of activities to expand client's logistics network provided by a major Third Party Logistics provider. You must be able to understand, manage and interact with several functional areas carriers, freight forwarders, 3rd party logistics providers, international commercial practices including customs and trade brokers and partner contracting. Here are some of the responsibilities.
- Work closely with functional stakeholders at a regional and theatre level to develop and maintain transportation operations.
- Conduct / manage regular program reviews, at operational and management level, and provide ongoing subject matter expertise internally and to region and theaters on transportation related issues.
- Evaluate logistics performance of Suppliers and logistics partners.
- Stakeholder communications on progress, delivery.
- Capability to lead worldwide operations essentially 7X24 cadence with using a matrix of resources.
- Manage using continuous improvement techniques, and operational metrics
The Successful Applicant
To qualify, you will have either a BSc or BA in any discipline, MBA preferred with at least 10+ years of relevant experience in an international logistics, transport, customs, or trade department/function. You must demonstrate excellence in working with external consultants and service providers, and in leading cross-functional teams in ensuring compliance with import and export regulations in high tech industry and have proven experience in running effective virtual teams and ability to work with core team members and cross-functional teams in a matrix managed environment. As you will will be presenting the program to constituents in key forums, you must demonstrate excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.
