About Our Client
Our client is a global leader in the mining and energy sector with operations covering coal, base and ferrous metals, industrial minerals, as well as precious metals and diamonds. With a new multi-billion dollar project in China entering feasibility stage it needs to build a core project team of cross-market specialists.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Finance you will take responsibility for project market strategy and analysis.

In particular you will:

• Provide detailed study and analysis of market, product and pricing trends across a diverse range of project blocks (coal, methanol and methanol derivatives and power)
• Build a database and knowledge platform to track supply/demand balances and development of pricing scenarios.
• Actively manage the relationship with project consultants, engineers, banks and industry groups.
• Make regular presentations on findings and strategy to senior management in both China and internationally.

The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this role you will:

• Possess at least 5 years management consultancy experience from within one of the leading firms or a respected multi-national.
• Hold a Bachelor Degree in related disciplines (MBA if possible)
• Ideally have sector exposure to the mining, energy, petro-chemical or infrastructure sector, or a strong desire to specialize in this dynamic sector.
• Have project experience within the Asia Pacific region and specifically China.
• Strong analytical skills and experience of working on large scale complex projects.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin.
