About Our Client
Our client is a Hong Kong listed company with ambitious investment plans in the coal mining industry in China. With further growth projected and impending acquisitions of coal reserves and mining operations in China, a unique opportunity has arisen for a high calibre individual to join the senior management team.

Job Description
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Operating Officer will undertake full responsibility for managing operations in China. You will drive and implement commercial, operational and systems strategies to enhance the efficiency of the business. Facilitating the business development process as well as effective liaison with engineering, marketing, finance, human resources and compliance are vitally important. Of critical importance will be your ability to communicate effectively with the board and senior management team in China, align various goals and objectives and manage key business relationships.

The Successful Applicant
This role will suit an ambitious individual who is keen to develop a fast track career in senior management with this expanding company. With a degree in engineering, you will have at least 10 years commercial experience in the mining/utilities industry. A track record of success in a multinational environment and experience in technical and general management are sought. A strong leader, you will provide clear direction to staff and develop a culture focused on excellence, quality, safety and results. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required, as is the need to travel to and be stationed in China.
