About Our Client
Our client is a global entertainment company that has been designing, developing, manufacturing, and marketing consumer products around the world since 1990s. It owns a number of famous brands and employs over 1000 people globally.
*Lead a marketing team for the creation and management of all aspects of the marketing plan for the Drone brands, including product definition, product positioning, packaging strategy, creative strategy briefs, advertising, in-store displays, public relations, licensing, web/internet, and targeted consumer/trade outreach and promotions.
*Oversee product development function for assigned brands from concept feasibility and selection to production, and from production to marketplace success.
*Manage the financial aspects of the Drone Brands, including costing and pricing, budgeting, SKU rationalization and profitability analysis.
*Identify desirable new business opportunities and market expansion potential by conducting sales and marketing competitive analysis of current and potential business. Analysis to include licensing opportunities, channels of distribution and sales targets, pricing for each class of trade, industry standard margin requirements, market research, market definition, promotional spending requirements and consumer benefits/needs.
*Manage relationships with inventors, distributors, overseas factories and vendors
*Lead business and product strategy development, including creating innovative slots and rationale for existing brands
*Lead new product brainstorming
*Concept development for new brands and new areas of expansion
* Research and review new product categories
*Oversee the design teams in the preparation of sketch drawings of potential product ideas and concepts
*Evaluate and measure actual forecast performance against objectives/plan
*Prepare presentations for review of product design concepts.
*Manage teams in product design projects on a daily basis including utilizing outside consultants and vendors as needed
*Prepare various product description / documentation forms required by the Engineering and Production Departments for turnover of final product designs for manufacturing
*Interface and communicate with our global offices on all aspects of the design and development process
The Successful Applicant
*10+ years of consumer product brand management experience in a new product-oriented industry, preferably in the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) category
*10+ years' experience in Product Development within UAV, RC, Voice Products, Robotics, Advanced and High-end Quad; etc.
*Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Engineering and/or combination of experience;
*Hands-on understanding of product development/R&D functions for diverse product lines; experience working with inventors, distributors, overseas factories and vendors
*Experience leading a global business unit in the areas of Design and Marketing; great at building and motivating a team; works effectively with the Executive team
*Strong creative, artistic, and aesthetic skills and the ability to integrate these skills with functional utility to product needs
*Strong analytical and communication skills
*Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and take products from initial concept through to production
*Demonstrated ability to understand the marketplace and develop product to address real opportunities
*Have a humble approach and collaborative working style to work with and across Centre of Excellence, strong communication skills and a compelling executive presence
*Flexible and resilient, able to work with a team mindset in a challenging matrixed environment
*Ability to develop strategies while "rolling up their sleeves" to get the work done and to know their business intimately
