About Our Client
Our Client is a North American conglomerate which develops, designs and manufacturers consumer products in the entertainment industry. They are one of the market leaders in this space with offices spanning across the world generating over US$2B in sales per annum. Reporting to VP, Global Supply Chain based in the US with a dotted line to the General Manager in Asia, you will be responsible for the their Asia based Supply Chain team which includes Planning, Program Management and Logistics managing a total workforce of 70+ people across 3 facilities.
You will lead and direct all facets of production planning including, but not limited to, material planning and purchasing, capacity planning, inventory control, supply demand balancing. Building the system and process to support vendor diversification will be key. Participation in global S&OP / constraint reviews is required. Incumbent needs to demonstrate capacity management (including scenario / "what if" based planning) with key suppliers. Collaborate with sales teams globally to ensure we are "chasing" upside opportunity late in the season. In addition you will lead and direct all facets of program management areas including, but not limited to, quotation, order fulfilment, customer service, relationship management, problem resolution, and allocation. You will manage all facets of logistics, but not limited to, inland Asia drayage optimisation, MCC programs, partnering with customer's freight forwarders, identifying additional areas for spend control. Ensure the company is addressing its Environmental sustainability while growing our footprint. A more diverse supply chain will require more advanced logistics management within Asia. Plus review team talent bench regularly and identify staff development plan for key staff, provide coaching and training to the overall teams. Build a talent bench within our Asia supply chain team. Redeploy resources within Asia as we continue our geographic expansion as part of supplier diversification. Drive Key metrics for the role include reducing supplier lead-times, managing and limiting our material exposure, improving customer service, and reducing our logistics costs as a percent of revenue.
The Successful Applicant
Fundamentally you will need to be able to demonstrate best in class Planning and Logistics capability. We are open to candidates from a wide range of backgrounds but ideally FMCG and Consumer Electronics or Fashion preferably within a global business. It is essential you have experience working across regions within global reporting structures. Solid exposure to managing a high mix and high matrix planning. Ideally English, Cantonese and Mandarin but where there are exceptional candidates that may be overlooked. Experience in SAP and ERP is useful plus demonstrable experience managing large teams and improving processes not just keeping status quo.
