About Our Client
The client was founded in Germany over 70 years ago and now it becomes a worldwide top household product supplier with various brands and product lines, supported by over 40 manufacturing and distributing centers cross the globe.
To provide leadership and strategic direction to the business's overall sales program, inclusive of securing new customers, expanding opportunities within the current customer base through new product/ assortment offerings and advertising;
To lead and manage all activities within the sales department, inclusive of account management,operations, customer support and advertising;
To set departmental KPIs and evaluate the effectiveness of the sales initiatives;
To make changes that encourage achievement of overall sales and business targets;
To take a major role in leading, designing, and implementing the business's development activities and corporate branding in order to increase revenue and gross profit; and
To take initiative to mentor key personnel in the sales department, ensuring their constant professional growth, and assisting them in the execution of their duties where necessary.
to spearhead the sales department's strategy development initiatives, ensuring that they remain consistent with the business's overall strategy;
To increase sales revenue through the design and implementation of appropriate strategies and product assortments for each of the business's verticals, sales channels, and services offered;
To design, implement, and manage the business's sales process, ranging from relationship development and contract finalization;
To drive organizational alignment to meet the requirements of key customer groups with products, services and solutions;
To cost & set long term pricing strategy for item assortment in agreement with management;
To oversee the marketing and global brand portfolio on a national basis for the company and align with APAC;
To develop and execute a brand strategy, including a brand identity, positioning, pricing and the communication plan;
To track and guide awareness, brand preference, penetration and loyalty metrics and
communicate results and return on investment;
To create and deliver customer value propositions/ solutions for various distribution channels, including retail, e-commerce, distributors etc.; and
To create, develop and/or implement the short and long term strategy for digital marketing and social media, in terms of content and campaigns across digital platforms to increase leads or revenue from the internet.
Knowledge and Opportunity:
To maintain/ develop a stable knowledge base of the business's industry, competitors, and regulatory activity;
To conduct regular research, keep up with trends and best practices, which give the business a competitive edge;
To implement new sales initiatives, strategies, and solutions; and
To identify talent and contribute to the recruitment of key sales department personnel, hence, maintaining efficient and effective execution of duties within the sales department and company.
To take initiatives to establish relationships with key personnel within the customer base;
To attend industry events and conferences, establishing and maintaining long term relationships with key customers, potential customers, and key strategic partners; and To negotiate sales and business development transactions inclusive of licenses, transaction agreements, subscription agreements, and partnerships, where necessary.
Collaboration across departments and people:
To works closely with other departments on sales strategies, forecasting, and general management issues in order to align the business's efforts, avoid conflict of interests, and enable the achievement of the business's overall goals and targets;
To collaborate with the financial department in determining the sales department's budget as well as appropriate internal budgetary allocations.
The Successful Applicant
Educated to Bachelor/ Master degree or equivalent in business management or similar;
Native Chinese, with strong communication skills and fluency in writing and reading Chinese and English is a must;
Position must demonstrate at least 10 years of working experience in a high-level sales position in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment;
Preferable experience in FMCG sector;
Hands-on experience of working in the China market in particular;
Demonstrate a successful record of accomplishing and exceeding goals in managerial positions while growing and scaling a sales organization of a sizeable business;
Experience providing innovative sales development strategies that have increased the sales performance of a business putting it ahead of its competition in the market;
Track record delivering management level opinions and analyses to senior executives;
Must have a level of business maturity, flexibility, and intestinal fortitude to energize and instill a winning, "can-do" attitude within the organization;
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Strong project management skills to drive initiatives;
Superb analytical skills;
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team;
Passionate customer advocacy;
