About Our Client
Our client is an international leader in the alcohol and spirits industry with a long history and a strong brand. They are currently further investing and expanding their business in Asia and is looking to hire an Area Manager, South Asia. The Area Manager will be joining the Asia Management team in accelerating the growth of the South Asia market. This is an exciting role suitable for entrepreneurial candidates with a strong background in the alcohol industry.
Based in Hong Kong, you will take on the key responsibility for the South Asia region including, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Indonesia, India (and subcontinent + Maldives), Singapore and Malaysia. Reporting to the Regional Director, Asia, you will manage the development of the business by ensuring effective and strong relationships with all business partners in each market. You will also be responsible for interpreting global and regional strategies and shape them for local territories to drive sustainable business growth. The key channels the brand will be driving is the on-trade channel and the candidate must work closely with the partners to continue identifying opportunities. Your role will be to maintain and further expand market growth in sales channels, drive business, and grow market share and brand awareness. As the brand ambassador for the business, a high level of travel will be required and as needed, you will develop country specific marketing programs and commercial drivers with partners, and follow up on the implementation. The role will require the candidate to successfully deliver commercial objectives set out by the company.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 7 years in a sales and marketing role for an international brand, with at least 2 years in the alcoholic beverages industry. You must have a strong background within the on-trade sales environment and segments, with proven expertise in driving availability and sales output. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of consumer/brand marketing and an expertise of customer marketing within the on-trade channels, with experiences in creating and implementing activation programs. This role requires someone who is hands-on with strong entrepreneurial spirit as you have to work autonomously within your given region. You must be a strong communicator and have exceptional negotiation and management skills. The candidate must be a degree holder. High travel within Asia is required.
