Flats in Hong Kong are measured on a square feet basis. As a rough guide a 1000 sq ft apartment in the Midlevels area will cost on average HK$30,000 - HK$40,000 per month. There are many flats which are more spacious and expensive, but you can also find some gems at affordable prices.
Like finding a flat anywhere in the world, it will test your patience. The majority of 'expats' live on Hong Kong Island in areas known as Midlevels, Happy Valley, Repulse Bay, Stanley or The Peak.
